July 11, 2019: Updates from regional Native American tribal members. Southern Sierra Miwuk tribal leaders will offer a Power Point presentation showing the progress on the restoration/recreation of historic Wahhoga Villiage in Yosemite Valley.  Wahhoga Village Committee Executive Director Tony Brochini and Chairman Les James will chronicle the rebirth of that village in which they were raised with personal memories and photos past and present.  The village, which was destroyed in 1969, has been under reconstruction in its original location just west of today’s Camp Four and not far from the site of the Gateway Partners meeting. The Yosemite Conservancy has assisted with funding to rebuild the village roundhouse and other projects.
