Fall, 2024 President's Message

Where has this year gone?  It just seems like yesterday that we had to cancel our January Quarterly Meeting due to a large snowstorm that was predicted to hit the Sierra.  While it was disappointing not being able to come together in January, we were very grateful that the scheduled speakers were able to join us at April’s meeting and deliver some very compelling presentations.  At July’s Quarterly Meeting, Jonathan Farrington handed over the proverbial presidential torch to me.  I am very thankful for Jonathan’s leadership of the organization over the past years which has made it very easy for me to step into the role.  The Board has spent the last several months refining our mission and vision.  This refinement will surely continue into 2025 and look forward to being able to share the evolution with you.

I want to take a moment and thank a few individuals who are very crucial to YGP’s success.  Scott Gediman, NPS Public Affairs Officer, who has served as an advisor since the inception of YGP.  We greatly appreciate his invaluable guidance and insight.  Beckie Tetrault, our Admin extraordinaire, who literally and figuratively helps keep our I’s dotted and T’s crossed.  Linda Emerson, our financial consultant and former board member, who makes sure all the numbers add up.  And Sheila Gow, YGP Executive Director.  She brings her wealth of Yosemite knowledge and impressive organizational skills to the table where that chair sat vacant for quite some time.

YGP has been very grateful for the robust attendance at our Quarterly Meetings during the last 18 months and appreciate everyone’s engagement.  As we look towards 2025, we recognize the need to carry to the forefront compelling topics that are important and relevant to our region.  Thank you for your continued support of and interest in Yosemite Gateway Partners.

Brett Archer,

YGP President
